My son is an Economics major, and was interested in doing a business minor. His academic advisor told him that business minors are only available to business majors. Is that possible? That seems ridiculous. He was also told that he cannot take a basic accounting class unless he is in the B school. I believe this will leave him at a considerable disadvantage in the job market. Does anyone have any helpful information about this? Is his advisor correct?
