NASCAR STAR KENNY SCHRADER TO SLING DIRT IN N.E. WISCONSIN IN JUNE (VERSATILE PILOT WILL RACE HIS IMCA MODIFIED @ OSHKOSH SPEEDZONE, 141 SPEEDWAY & SEYMOUR SPEEDWAY JUNE 21-23) (Green Bay, WI) June 3 – One of the country’s most diverse names in motorsports, NASCAR driver Kenny Schrader, will wheel his Federated Auto Parts IMCA modified at a trio of northeast Wisconsin dirt ovals June 21-23. The Fenton, Missouri native will compete Friday night June 21 at Oshkosh Speedzone, Saturday night June 22 at 141 Speedway in Francis Creek, and Sunday night June 23 at Seymour Speedway. Schrader will be in the area as his ARCA team will be competing that weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake with Austin Dillion at the wheel. “I figured since I’ll be up there in the area I might as well drag my dirt team up there and do some racing,” said Schrader. The 58-year-old Schrader, who’s never met a race track he didn’t like, has raced coast to coast 12 months out of the year for decades now. “I’ve got a list of every track I’ve raced. I keep a book every year,” said Schrader. “I’m closing in on 450 tracks total. That includes dirt and asphalt both. That keeps it fun for me, it really does. I love meeting the fans. They are proud of their weekly tracks as they should be.” Schrader has sold his dirt late model equipment but still has both IMCA and UMP legal modifieds at his disposal. “We don’t run many IMCA shows just because of the way our schedule works out and where we are located we generally wind up running more UMP stuff,” said Schrader. “We won one IMCA race in Vegas. It’s just a lot easier for us to travel around the country with the modifieds. It’s easier for us to pick up shows.” Schrader is a 27 year NASCAR Sprint Cup driver who three years ago raced his dirt late model and modifieds in 29 states and one Canadian province. Schrader’s also co-owner of three dirt tracks – I-55 Speedway, Pevely, Mo.; Macon Speedway, Macon, Ill. and Paducah International Raceway, Paducah, Ky. A $500 bonus will be given to whichever IMCA driver earns the most points in the three nights that Schrader races. The points used to determine the winner will simply be pulled off from the IMCA’s regular, weekly point scale. The tiebreaker will be feature wins, followed by the highest feature finish, if need be. The $500 is being sponsored by all three tracks. At Oshkosh Speedzone Friday night Budweiser presents the Bumper to Bumper IRA outlaw sprint cars. Automotive Supply Company IMCA modifieds and Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods will also be racing at support classes. Racing gets underway at 7 p.m. Check oshkoshspeedzone.net or call (920) 252 1463 or (920) 279 9096 for more information. Saturday night at 141 Speedway it will be the last weekly race before the $10,000-to-win Clash at the Creek V June 26-27, as many modified hotshoes are expected to be on hand to get a shakedown for the big race. Hansel Trucking IMCA northern sportmods, IMCA stock cars, Brian Peterson Grand Nationals, Tisler Salvage Street stocks and sport fours will be on hand with racing getting underway at 6 p.m. Check 141speedway or (920) 863 3377 for further information. Sunday night at Seymour a full program of Budweiser IMCA modifieds, Coors Light IMCA stock cars, IMCA northern sportmods, street stocks, Fastrak late models and four cylinders will be in action, with racing getting underway at 6 p.m. Check seymoursuperspeedway.net or call (920) 833-7726 for more information. Schrader will be available for fan autograph sessions all three nights at all three tracks.
