NEWS: #Cheltenham jeweller’s Golf Day raises over £9,000 for children’s charity WellChild Cheltenham’s prestigious jeweller Martin & Co proudly hosted a golf day earlier this month for WellChild, the national charity for seriously ill children at Puckrup Hall, #Tewkesbury where over a staggering £9000 was raised. The 18 teams, made up of staff and invited local businesses took to the greens for a round of golf in the stunning Cotswold surroundings before a hosted dinner, auction and prize giving. There were a number of highlights throughout the day including the favourite ‘hole-in-one’ challenge where the successful winner would receive a new BMW, sponsored by Cotswold Motor Group, as well as a chance for players to test their skills and beat the professional. All profits raised by the event went to WellChild to help their work with seriously ill children and their families across the UK. Martin & Co, a leading jeweller and family business for over 200 years, has been a long term supporter of Cheltenham based WellChild and has donated numerous gift-in-kind prizes for the their beneficiary events and fundraising activities. In addition, Martin & Co, has been an important sponsor for both the charity’s Christmas Fair, held at Daylesford and the annual WellChild Awards in September. Their staff also tested their endurance to run on behalf of WellChild in the first Cheltenham Half marathon in 2013. James Grant, Manager of Martin & Co Cheltenham, said: “Martin & Co is privileged to hold a golf day in aid of WellChild, our long-term charity partner.
