NOMINATION FORM SAGA Recently, the cost of partys nomination forms has raised some dust to the extent that the electronic and print media are awashed with this issue. What is the fuss about? What is wrong with being wealthy? Is every rich man corrupt or evil? Is it not better to give a wealthy person a position of trust than an upstart? Be that as it may, election, campaign and politics in general remains the most expensive everywhere in the world. Some argue that political expenses are bound to be recouped from the public treasury by the eventual winners. This is not only wrong but preposterous for there are so many ways of off-setting the said incured debts without depleting the public treasury. Having said that, it shoud be noted that a call for a legislative reduction in the cost of politicking tantamounts trivialization, bastardization and banalization of political processes. Let the electorates therefore, sharpen their discernment facaulty and go for accountability, tranparency and straightforwardness as could be seen in some politicians like Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. Such an orientation is the panacea.
