Now days, for me, most of my friends are either in Law Enforcement or retired like me. When I put the uniform on, I saw nothing but fellow officers. I had their backs as they did mine. While on duty, I was always amazed at how management viewed officers. Management would say, Oh, thats a great officer. Yet those of us that worked with that person knew they had a mental problem. That is, mostly the power syndrome. To rule over people with a sadistic element. The same crack pot officers bringing you people in cuffs for something that could have been dismissed with talk.When you looked at the officers on your shift, you knew immediately who was going to cause problems by setting people off. We have all worked with them and hopped they would simply disappear.The good officers enforced the law and did not perform what I call the over kill. This brings me to the put with the guy dieing over a choke hold. First, selling cigs with out the proper lic, etc is illegal and this guy should have been arrested. But the use of this type of force for this situation is totally uncalled for.Selling Cigs illegally, now theres a major crime against humanity WTF ! The Grand Jurys hands are tied so to speak. The guide lines they must follow are to say the least vary narrow. The Grand Jury can not be faulted for their decision. However the Department for which this officer works should have done a much better job based on this officers history. From what I know he has been involved in questionable actions many times. We, Law Enforcement all get the black eye because we must work with these nut jobs every single day. Most officers would agree. Body cameras are not bad. They are only considered bad if you know you cant work within the SOP and the Law. To all of the officers, past and present , that I am friends with . You are my brothers and sisters, I love all of you and wish for you and yours nothing but the best. The other officers that fall into what I like to call The Crack Pot Category. I dont give a crap what happens to you.
