OK so my dad was working in Paterson at the unemployment office when the news of President Kennedys death came across the radio. He said that he has never seen anything like it. The NJ govt. shut down in 20 minutes or less. They were all sent home. The weather in NJ was bright and sunny and in the late 40s or low 50s so not too cold. My mom was in High School at Fairlawn HS when the news came across the PA system. In the hall way on the way to health class. And heard that the President had been shot. By the time she got into health class the second announcement came across that he PA that he was dead. She said that they didnt quite at the time understand the magnitude of the situation.
