ON THE JUST US SYSTEM I only care what are our next AGs views on how to administer justice. I do not want a lame duck appointment. I want to know in public and under oath from congressional hearings - (1) will the AG promise to rout out every US Attorney and any assistant who overcharges the accused (with charges the government cant prove), and/or anyone who withholds evidence of innocence and of lying witnesses?, and (2) will the AG name, fire and punish these corrupted government lawyers for undermining our too imperfect dystopic system of justice. We have a deluge of such official deception presently and, when its uncovered, there is no sanction for what theyve done. Im hopeful the nominee will testify that she will act appropriately. Im hopeful there will be testimony we can use to hold her to her sworn word. I want a contract with the next AG. If she wont affirm to clean up the Department, the Hill - and I mean both parties - should deny her confirmation. This should be the standard applied to anyone who cant or wont assure us that government lawyers are going to be bound by the same rules of the road - of ethical and legal conduct worthy of the nation entrusting them to enforce our laws. In the last few days, one defense lawyer said at a meeting I attended (apologies I cant remember his name right now), that exculpatory and impeachment evidence is like the Loch Ness monster when you ask any prosecutor, state or federal, about what they are going to do to share it with the accused, counsel and the court - the response you get is - the prosecutors may have heard it exists but theyve never seen any.
