OPEN LETTER TO GREEN PARTY CO-LEADER RUSSEL NORMAN Fluoride Free NZ shares the Green Party’s concern for the environment and New Zealand’s “clean, green” image to protect, not only New Zealand’s environment, but also its economic wellbeing. You are correct in stating that “The first step to cleaning up our rivers is to stop adding more pollution”. So it is strange that the Green Party supports communities deciding on fluoridation when they should be calling for an immediate cease to the practice of adding a known toxic waste to the water supply. A toxic waste that is illegal to dump into rivers, lakes or the Ocean unless it is drip fed through the shared public drinking water. Currently hundreds of Tonnes of Hydrofluorosilic Acid and Sodium Fluorosilicate are carefully dumped into New Zealanders shared drinking water supply each year in the false hope of improving dental health. 99% of household water is flushed down the drain, eventually ending up contaminating our water ways for future generations. Since 1999 pro-fluoride scientists have claimed that fluoride works by surface contact to the teeth so why does the Green Party continue to accept the discredited theory that fluoride should be swallowed?? If the Green Party is serious about clean rivers, then it is imperative we follow the Israeli Ministry of Health’s recent decision to outlaw fluoridation.
