#OPINION TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT By C Karanja I am rarely a conformist yet I always speak my mind at the right time and to the right audience. I always like to look at the positive side of everything. I hate what Tea Bag in Prison Break , Captivity of Negativity . I happen to have been at the celebrations marked yesterday at the county headquarters and I must say without fear of contradiction that its either most of our MCAs have not read the new constitution or they may be living in fear of the unknown. I listened carefully to speaker after speaker, MCA after MCA, and believe you me, apart from a few who spoke sense, most of them were saying intangible things. Of particular interest are those who issued threats through out their talk. Those who said they wanted the procurement department to be streamlined. Others called bitterly for an end to insecurity. Oblivious of the facts that the security docket is primarily a job for the national government. How do you for example threaten to move to the opposition just after a year. Most of them are already into 2017 politics yet they are yet to explain to the electorate why they are no longer available like the previous councillors I was so disappointed. And I think we should go back to the drawing board. Perhaps some of those guys are not aware of why they sit in that house. I hope they wake up before it is too late. I was taught good literature in high school and can easily read mischief. I dont trust the county speaker. I may be wrong altogether, but from his talk I saw defiance and arrogance to the office of the governor. Its either he wants to become governor in future or is working for somebody else who is not the common mwananchi. I could still be wrong in this. Meanwhile, take your leaders to task. Some of them are too petty. Some are not leaders at all. Some cannot construct a reasonable sentence and sadly some can hardly express themselves. Again, hope they improve before its too late. I commend the PSB and the CEC. The governor spoke like Obama. I am thinking we still give time before we score him.
