OPSUs Stephens Receives Honorary State FFA Degree Released by OPSU Campus Communications Goodwell, Okla. — Daren Stephens, OPSU Agriculture teacher and Firestone Meat Lab Director, received the 2014 Honorary State FFA Degree as an outstanding Oklahoma FFA supporter. The award was presented during the 2014 State FFA Convention at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City on April 29. The award is the highest honorary award presented by the FFA at the state level in recognition of support and service. Individuals must be nominated by local FFA chapters. Stephens was recognized for this work with area FFA chapters through his involvement with the Annual OPSU Interscholastic FFA Contest as well as County Livestock Shows. Dr. Nels Peterson, OPSU Agricultural Education teacher and OPSU FFA adviser, said, It is a significant honor. Daren works very hard and I was so pleased that he got recognized for the things he does.
