On Wednesday, Nigeria celebrated its 54th year of independence. President Goodluck Jonathan gave his customary speech, praising his supposed accomplishments and criticizing terrorist activity...but one issue was glaringly amiss: the missing girls of Chibok. The gaping void in his address left civilians so upset that they organized as Citizens Arise Movement of Nigeria (CAMON) at the capital, protesting what many agree is an incompetent President. CAMON Coordinator Dino Melaye had a lot to say about the Presidents incomplete address, including: [President Jonathan] is not the Father of the nation because no Father will have missing children, 219 of them, and would carry on as if nothing is amiss. We are here to tell the President he needs to be born again. He needs to respect his oath of office.” Melaye added, The President has forgotten the welfare of the Chibok girls. He has forgotten the welfare of missing Nigerians. We are not happy. We are calling on the President to demonstrate capacity.” Does President Jonathan have no shame?
