On this day in Indiana History, 1967, world-famous violinist and conductor Joshua Bell was born in Bloomington, Indiana. At the age of 4 he received his first violin and went on to study music at Indiana University, where he received an Artist Diploma. Bell has performed with numerous prominent symphony orchestras, received a Grammy Award, and appeared on shows such as Sesame Street and The Tonight Show. Bell currently performs in Europe and serves as Senior Lecturer in Music at IU’s Jacobs School of Music. Take a listen:
