One of the things I love about my work is meeting people who teach me new things. This morning three lovely women from Portland stopped in to the studio. They are students of Jackye Hansen, and were telling me about a wonderful rug hooking trip they took to Nova Scotia last year. In the course of the conversation, they told me about Nova Scotian folk artist Maud Lewis, and the rug designs that are now being made of her work. The patterns are available through a company called Highland Heart Hookery in Halifax, NS. This is definitely on my destination list for the next time Im in Halifax. Ill put a little bit more about Maud Lewis in the comment thread. - Beth
