One of the web sites that gave me a real shock when I was looking for reasons not to quit the witnesses was the Associated Jehovahs Witnesses for Reform on Blood. As I looked through discussion of the scriptural basis for the teaching against blood transfusions, I was disgusted that the Society twists and/or ignores the majority of biblical discussion of blood. Even more was I stunned to realize that with all the modifications to the requirement to abstain from blood, where fractions are allowed in one case or another, there is no legitimate technical reason to abstain! Their web site was down for some time, but has been largely refurbished at this point. There is now so much good stuff, its hard to decide which page to link to here to get you started.
