Open Letter to Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi – A rejoinder Umuigbuzor, - TopicsExpress

Open Letter to Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi – A rejoinder Umuigbuzor, it is quite interesting that we are witnessing an era of open letters. Most of these have been seen as a ploy of addressing certain issues through high calibre office holders. Ironically though, most of these letters are hiding under satirical traits and innuendoes aimed at attacking some persons, some of whom these letters are addressed to. For crying out loud, these banters in form of open letters have succeeded in exposing the negative tendencies at the back of the writers’ minds. Call it words of advice and congratulatory messages. Indeed! We, Ibuzo people are not cowed to believe that these letters have missions and targets. Whether written to Barr. Princess Pat Ajudua, or Hon. Innocent Esewezie or Chief (Barr.) Peter Nwaoboshi, it is glaring from the tones that they are aimed at distorting the political processes, hence retarding the developmental growth of this great town. To think that some of the writers of thiese epistolaries have nothing to offer. So they resort to destructive tendencies – “okuku di ka eli eli, obosa abosa”. It beats my imaginations what they stand to gain in the long run. In one of these recent traditional long epistles addressed directly to Barrister Peter Nwaoboshi, it was clear that the writer is bent on dragging his image to the mud on a calumnious note. Yet, it hid under the guise of praising and congratulating his brother and professional colleague. Candidly, I find out that we Ibusans are the architect of our misfortunes (no apologies as I am one - full blooded). We tend to criticize everything even when it is not convenient. We tend to fight when it is not necessary. I call these misguided priorities. Pull-Him-Down syndrome has eaten deep into our marrows. And it saddens that we are not learning any lesson from it at all. During the second republic, we lost a very big opportunity of having an institution of higher learning sited in our domain because of similar attitude. Yet, nobody asked a question of what happened, and nobody cared to ask why. Today, Agbor is reaping from that loss. Last year, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi bought a massive land from Umuogwo community for whatever purpose. That land became an issue of controversy as nerves became frayed over who owns the land. Later, he had to buy from Okpanam community where he is siting a multi-billion naira factory to produce electric cables and PVC ceilings. I ask today, whose gain? When he was two time commissioner in Delta State he facilitated the tarring of Okanga road beginning from NOPOV at Ogbeowelle, Umuisor, Isikisi, Ezukwu/Achalla, Ezukwu/Ogboli, and terminating at Ogbo-Iwu, Umuodafe. (although, Ogboli road was tarred by Peter Okocha). It is on record that he did this even it did not fall under the purview of his office to do so. What further love can show to his community? Other roads like Umuehea, Nkpanyala, etc. were also facilitated directly or indirectly by him. If he is not adjudged to have done anything, Hon. Pat Mozea who facilitated the tarring of Obuzor road, the present transition committee chairman, Hon. Innocent Esewezie are products of his political mentorship and tutelage. What about the following, Dr. Austin Obidi, Hon. Afam Ajudua, Hon. (Barr.) Kate Onianwa (nee Ajudua), Hon. Emma Utomi, Hon. (Dr.) Felicia Nwaeze, Comrade David Ashikodi and Hon. (Mrs.) Pat Asiana. What more do we expect from him? He is still in power and still doing what he can to attract some developments to Ibusa and only Ibusa people are not seeing anything good about him or what he does. I am not surprised that such attacks are even coming from his own kinsman. After all, the Bible proves that a man’s enemies are the people of his own home. To Barr. Femi Okafor and his cohorts, it is obvious that you have decided to infect all Ibusa with your failure syndrome. I am not surprised that you want to drag everybody down to your non-achievement status. Ibusa is bigger than you. You failed when you had opportunities to leave an imprint in your various leadership capacities. So, you do not have any moral justification to say anything about Ibusa development. I am only afraid of the number of good spirited Ibusans that you will end up sending into the abyss of false belief. Although, I know that majority of your followers are faceless which you are one of the operators. Too bad you have decided to reduce yourself to this level of ignominy. Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi is your brother. If he has offended you, I think there are many ways to talk truce instead of this open shame. It has further proves to me that you have no dignity after all. My good brother and Diokpa, I have a lot of respect for achievers like you. But, when you were listing your achievements, I did not see any monumental project that you attracted when you held all the positions beginning from Sec-General to ICDU president which were under ibusa domiciliary and yet, you are bold to mention them. I took time to investigate the said law chamber you credited to yourself and did not see any trace of any case victory credited to them. Haba! Diokpa omogwu o. “He who delights in removing a speck from someone’s eyes should first of all remove the ones in his own eyes”. Of a truth, Barr. Peter Nwaoboshi is too occupied with reasonable thoughts of human capital development than to sit and loaf around on the pages of facebook and begin to respond to you. But my boss is his political god-son. So, I am equally affected as a political grandson. I cannot sit and watch such unhealthy criticisms fly to him uninhibite. So, you can go ahead and write more, send the name of Ibusa to everywhere. The gods of this land are watching you. I am not surprised you are thanking him for facilitating a housing estate to Ibusa because I know that is another style of your decoy to deride him. But you have failed. If only you and cronies should know that the ongoing electricity stepdown in progress now was facilitated by one of Peter Nwaoboshi’s political son representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu. - Philip Ng. Ifechukwude, Executive Media Assistant to the Chairman.
