Out with the old, in with the new Have you been eyeing that latest flat screen LED television for some time? The HD 80’’ screen your mates will envy when watching your favourite sports team, but you are left with the difficult question on what to do with your out-dated TV. TV Takeback Hutt City Council has partnered with Remarkit to collect unwanted TV’s on Sunday 25 August from 9am – 4pm at the Riverbank car park, Daley Street, Lower Hutt. Old TV’s contain toxic contaminants as well as reusable resources and should be recycled. As the country goes digital, some New Zealanders will use this opportunity to upgrade their TV so it is important that any unwanted TV’s are recycled responsibly. For a limited time you will be able to take advantage of a subsidy and recycle your old TV for no more than $5 per TV at the Remarkit collection site. This offer is only for a limited number of TV’s. Residents are encouraged to drop off their TV’s as soon as they can to avoid the disappointment of being charged a higher cost when the regions cap is reached to cover the full cost of recycling. huttcity.govt.nz/Global/Images/news/news-tvtakeb
