Overcoming Rejection May 31, 2014 (Some of the notes I took tonight) How do you handle life when doors are closed and you are rejected? 1 - Be cautious of your connections. You cant be connected with just anybody. You need to understand the anointing that you have on your life. 2 - Learn to brush off the bitterness. When youve been offended and you dont get over it, it leaves a residue of bitterness. Bitterness creates the stain of anger. The one who rejected you doesnt have the final say over you. 3 - Learn to take the loss. Rejection is an offense to your pride. Its tough to be gifted and still be rejected. Pride will have you think you are too gifted and that no door should be closed. Pride wants the answer to why. You become held hostage because you are waiting for an explanation. Every job will not be prosperous. Every relationship wont work. Every friendship wont last forever. Every desire wont be good for you. In order to get over it, youve got to get away from it. 4 - Perceive another possibility. With rejection, you want to know why but you should be asking God, whats next. God always has another possibility. God is sovereign, omnipotent, Hes in control of your life, He orders your steps, and He can do ANYTHING but fail. Could it be the rejection was the sovereign will of God? Could it be the closed door wasnt the enemy but it was the hand of God keeping you from going in a direction and settling on something less. That rejection could be God redirecting you. ~ Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley https://youtube/watch?v=SLCLRLrIx3c
