Passed the beach on my way to a meeting tonight. Thought that the dotterels might have moved back to their real lives by now, but popped onto the beach and paced around a little, looking, and listening for any cheeping. The beach was silent for what seemed a very long time, then I saw this little man puffing up his feathers, and watched very closely, and I saw a mate and a nest with one egg! Karen Neal seeing these little birds were a real bonus in my day.
