Pingley , Penny L. 63 Westmont Penny L. (Reed) Pingley, 63, of Westmont, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2013, at home, after a long illness. She was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Kittanning, daughter of Joseph Glenn and Doris (Magan) Reed, of Templeton. Penny was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John C. and Helen L. Pingley; and nephew, Phillip M. Reed. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert; her parents; brothers, David, of Colorado, Michael and wife, Jill, of Dayton, and Ronald, of Templeton; sisters, Nancy Nelson and husband, James, of Harrisburg, Beverly DeMatties and husband, Dominick, of St. Marys, and Libby Schafer, of Homer City; brothers- in-law, John Pingley, of Somerset, and Kerry Pingley and wife, Terri, of Latrobe; seven nieces; five nephews; four great-nieces; and three great-nephews. Penny graduated from Dayton High School in 1968 and from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1972. She touched the lives of many during her career as a caseworker for the Department of Public Welfare in Cambria County. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dining, shopping and hosting special holidays for the entire family. Penny also enjoyed her dogs, Buddy and Parker, and always stepped up to provide a home with love and care to an occasional stray kitten. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at the FRANK DUCA FUNERAL HOME, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, PA 15905, where funeral service will be held at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Pennys name be made to the Cambria County Humane Society, 743 Galleria Drive Extension, Johnstown, PA 15904.
