(v22) Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. (v23) For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. (v24) Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. (v25) Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (v26) to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, (v27) and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. (v28) In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. (v29) After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— (v30) for we are members of his body. (v31) “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” (v32) This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. (v33) However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. (Ephesians 5:21-33) ********** (v15) But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will SERVE THE LORD.” (Joshua 24:15) ************************************************ (v5) Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may DEVOTE YOURSELVES TO PRAYER. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. * (v10) To the MARRIED I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. (v11) But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife. (1 Corinthians 7:5; 10-11) ************************************************ A song of ascents. (v1) Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to him. (v2) You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. (v3) Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. (v4) Yes, this will be the blessing for the MAN who fears the Lord. (Psalm 128:1-4) ************************************************ (v4) A WIFE of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones. (Proverbs 12:4) ********** (v25) She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. (v26) She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. (v27) She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. (v28) Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: (v29) “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” (v30) Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. (Proverbs 31:25-30) ************************************************ The Little CHILDREN and Jesus (v15) People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. (v16) But JESUS called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. (v17) Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (Luke 18:15-17) ********** (v3) Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3) ********** (v24) Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them. (Proverbs 13:24) ********** (v18) Discipline your children, for in that there is hope; do not be a willing party to their death. (Proverbs 19:18) ********** (v6) Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6) ********** (v17) Discipline your children, and they will give you peace; they will bring you the delights you desire. (Proverbs 29:17) ************************************************ (v4) LOVE is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. (v5) It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (v6) Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (v7) It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7) ********** (v37) JESUS replied: “‘LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ (v38) This is the first and greatest commandment. (v39) And the second is like it: ‘LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ (Matthew 22:37-39) ************************************************ (v7) SUBMIT YOURSELVES, THEN, TO GOD. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (James 4:7) ************************************************ (v3) Make every effort to KEEP THE UNITY OF THE SPIRIT through the bond of PEACE. (Ephesians 4:3) *** (v14) And over all these virtues PUT ON LOVE, which binds them all together in PERFECT UNITY. (Colossians 3:14) ********** (v15) The way of fools seems right to them, but the WISE LISTEN TO ADVICE. (Proverbs 12:15) ************************************************ (v16) All SCRIPTURE is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, (v17) so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) ************************************************ BE HOLY (v13) Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your HOPE on the grace to be brought to you when JESUS CHRIST is revealed at his coming. (v14) As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. (v15) But just as HE WHO CALLED YOU IS HOLY, so be holy in all you do; (v16) for it is written: “BE HOLY, BECAUSE I AM HOLY.” * (v22) Now that you have purified yourselves by OBEYING THE TRUTH so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. (v23) For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. (v24) For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, (v25) but the WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER.” And this is the word that was preached to you. (1 Peter 1:13-16; 22-25) ************************************************ ************************************************ Request for Prayer (v3) As for other matters, brothers and sisters, PRAY for us THAT THE MESSAGE OF THE LORD MAY SPREAD RAPIDLY AND BE HONORED, just as it was with you. (2 Thessalonians 3:1 * New International Version) ************************************************ THE GREAT COMMISSION (v18) Then JESUS came to them and SAID, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. (v19) Therefore GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, (v20) and TEACHING THEM TO OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. AND SURELY I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE VERY END OF THE AGE.” (Matthew 28:18-20 * New International Version) ************************************************ (v2) GOD THE FATHER KNEW YOU and CHOSE YOU long ago, and his SPIRIT has MADE YOU HOLY. As a result, you have OBEYED HIM and have been CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. May GOD GIVE YOU more and MORE GRACE AND PEACE. The HOPE OF ETERNAL LIFE (v3) ALL PRAISE TO GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, (v4) and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. (1 Peter 1:2-4 * New Living Translation) ************************************************ (Holy Bible)
