Please remember this time of year we tend to get a rise in car, home, and garage break-ins. Please take appropriate precautions and use the following 5 steps to help prevent a crime from happening to you or your family. 1. Lock your doors and windows. Thieves often check for unlocked doors and windows; then rummage through for items to steal. 2. Never leave items in plain sight. If you leave valuable items such as; GPS units, digital cameras, purses, wallets, loose change, and electronics in your vehicle place them in the glove box, center console, or trunk. Make sure to lock the vehicle. Also, remember to keep these same items hidden out of sight in your house. 3. Never leave keys in car or ignition. Not only will thieves steal your belongings but they may take your car for a joyride. 4. Close overhead garage doors and lock service doors. Thieves may target your garage if given the opportunity. 5. Report suspicious activity IMMEDIATLEY. Often, people will hear or see something suspicious but don’t call the Police Department Numbers 4 and 5 are the most important!!!!!!!!!
