Police Make Mockery out of Activists Restraining Court Order. #Should_Noel_Anjo_File_For_Contempt_Agst_VAKI???? On the 6th of October Mr Anjo went to the human rights court before Justice David Cannings & was granted a restraining order against Police Commissioner Geoffery Vaki & acting NCD Metropolitan Supt. N’dranou Perou & all police officers from interfering with his rights to freedom of expression, freedom of gathering & freedom of movement under the Constitution. Mr Anjo had told the court that in the past he was barred on numerous occasions by police on his request to stage peaceful protests on issues of national interests. So why did Police stop Noel Anjo Kolao from continuing his protest last Thursday? Mr Anjo said he was surrounded by 15 police vehicles at Unagi Oval and ordered not to protest against the Prime Minister & the police department. In the event, Mr Anjo’s loudspeaker was destroyed plus wires to the microphone cut off. Mr Anjo said the officers were drunk. Further if the Police Commissioners office was aware of the protest, why werent NON-ROGUE police stationed at the scene of protest to ensure that the protest went smoothly? Why was it only ROGUE police present? It appears very organised & planned that only ROGUE police were present at the protest last Thursday. If normal police had been present at the protest (which should have occurred to maintain law & order) then the rogue police would have been identified & charged or asked to leave. Firstly we have to seriously question what type of society we have become in order to go to court in order to protest freely against the PM and secondly question the effectiveness of being granted a restraining order against the police??? It appears anyone who speaks out against PO are effectively silenced whether the individuals are in NGO or in State institutions. Wantoks commented: The police are the upholders of the law, THEYRE supposed to know the full extent of the law, its their job. If the police act contrary to those guidelines then THEY are acting outside of the law, & the police represent the State. The police must be representing the head of State.
