Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of indecent assaults that are alleged to have taken place on trams in the CBD. Police have been told an unknown man enters the tram on route 1 or 8 on Elgin Street Carlton during morning peak and has been seen to touch females indecently. In most cases the female victims tell the offender to leave them alone and get off the tram around Lonsdale Street. The man gets off the tram at Melbourne Central and is believed to have followed the same routine most days between July and September. The man wears the same or similar clothing every day which is described as a dark grey Adidas jumper, dark coloured track pants and carries a large duffel bag.
