Power Outage Issues Dear Mesquite Neighbors, Some of you have contacted me with concerns about the power outage. This is the response I received today from ONCOR after voicing my concerns about our residents still out of power. Im sorry everyone is going through this. I wish there was more we could do! Im in prayer for all of you. My home just got our power back last night. Bruce Archer From Oncor-- Oncor has restored power to more than 215,000 customers impacted by the fast-moving storm that swept North Texas on Thursday. Early Saturday, less than 85,000 customers remained without electricity. Oncor expects to have 95 percent of power restored by Sunday evening. At the peak of the storm, more than 302,000 customers were without power. Oncor understands the hardships and frustrations our customers are experiencing and we are grateful for their continued understanding and patience. Our team is committed to restoring power as safely and quickly as possible. The storm, which packed tornado force winds of up to 90 miles per hour, moved across Tarrant and Dallas counties and beyond causing widespread damage. Oncor has called upon utilities from across Texas and nearby states to assist with outages. More than 5,000 Oncor employees and mutual assistance personnel from across Texas and six other states are working on restoration efforts. • These include Oklahoma Gas and Electric, Centerpoint (Houston), Alabama Power, Duke Energy (North Carolina), WesStar (Kansas City), American Electric Power (San Angelo), Austin Energy, Texas New Mexico Power and Mississippi Power. The restoration efforts have been complicated because in addition to downed trees, power lines and distribution poles, electrical facilities in a number of areas have to be rebuilt. What can customers do? • Customers can report an outage to 888.313.4747 • If you see a downed power line, please assume it’s live and call 911. Keep family and pets away and do not remove tree limbs or debris near a downed power line. ONCOR
