Programme for American undergraduates Is your community group interested in a well-structured and supported 7-week student volunteer placement for free? Nigel Glenny teaches at INCORE (the International Conflict Research Institute based at the University of Ulster’s Magee Campus) and he directs a programme for American undergraduates that focuses on Social Change in Northern Ireland. An essential component of this programme is a 7-week community based placement (internship). There is no cost to your organization for hosting the placement. Placements should ideally be in community groups in the Derry~Londonderry area. For over 10 years students, participating in this programme, have proven to be intelligent, able and very enthusiastic with regard to the contributions they have made to local organizations. Students have supported organization in a number of ways including assisting with administration, co-facilitation, resource development, research and evaluation. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of a student placement please contact Nigel [email protected] The next group of students arrive at the start of February (with internships commencing at the start of March) Nigel is keen to hear from interested groups as soon as possible.
