Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Why would a man fear God ? I mean God loves us and would never do anything that would hurt us , right ? Well consider what is written. Many think they are wise but become fools. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. They are become wise in their own deceit. They go to a siminary where they are taught by man and they think they have all that God wants for them. It was told to Paul that much learning had made him mad. Paul was much learned in the way of the Pharisees. Yet Paul was brought low on the road to Damascus. He was known as Saul but after he met Jesus his name was changed. We read of another that wrestled with an angel and his name changed too. His name was Jacob, Jacob wrestled so hard with the angel that his leg was pulled out of joint. His name was changed to Israel. What do these two have in common ? Both were changed after a meeting with God. Jacob walked with a limp , Paul was struck blind and was not healed until he was before the very people he sought to destroy. Does God have to burn your feilds to get your attention ? Hear the voice of the Lord and obey. God has called many but few are chosen. Those chosen will have knowledge. Knowledge of who God is , a fear and reverence for what God can do , and an expectation of an eternity of peace. Peace that Jesus gives , not as the world gives. God is not willing that any would perish but that all would come to repentance. We earnestly contend for faith that was once delivered to the saints. God delivered his children ( Israel) at the Red Sea while he destroyed the Egyptian army that followed. Stand still and see the salvation of God. There is a wrath of God coming but we have a way of escape. Jesus said I AM the way the truth and the life. You cant enter in any other way. Love the word of God , for it is the instruction of God. Love his word and instruction. Hold on to it when all around you is falling apart. Looking unto Jesus , who is the author and finisher of our faith. Jesus is coming read , comment and share
