Queen of Hearts (Jon Amiel, 1989) original trailer - An epic tale of romance, revenge and cappuccino An Italian couple defy both their families and marry for love. Four children later, they are running a cafe in Londons Italian Quarter (a mythologised Clerkenwell). Funny, moving and heart-warming British comedy from the 1980s that had huge critical success at the time but was then overlooked as a classic as grittier Brit films became the norm. Notable for being Tony Grisonis first screenplay and Jon Amiels first feature after his TV success with The Singing Detective, Queen of Hearts featured a wonderful cast, including veterans Eileen Way (The Vikings) and Vittorio Duse (Viscontis Ossessione, The Godfather III) and newcomers Joseph Long, Anita Zagaria and Ian Hawkes as little Eddie, who rivals Cinema Paradisos Toto for cuteness. Extras were recruited from the London Italian community to add to its authenticity, and even if this Little Italy is remembered through rose-tinted spectacles, it succeeds as a film precisely because it speaks of the myth and memory common to many tight-knit communities. _______ FOLLOW LIPSapp Classic Radio _______ FB: r-js/1vz7Pcz / TW: r-js/1kHd2Qt / Listen to LIPSapp Classic Radio r-js/1dOIQ18 #classicrock #rollingstones #ledzeppelin #santana #eagles #zztop #thewho #beatles #elvis #jimihendrix #dylan #acdc #michaeljackson #pinkfloyd #madonna #u2
