RCMP OFFICER IN NORTHWEST TERRITORIES ADOPTS VERY SPECIAL DOG NAMED PADDY CAKES Dear friends, I read this story this morning and was happy to hear about such a positive solution to a negative situation. In some remote northern communities and on First Nations reserves there are stray dogs who become a danger to the community and may be dealt with by culls. Some First Nations, such as the Mikisew Cree First Nation in Alberta, have handled the dogs in more humane ways and those people are great role models. The fact that RCMP officer Thomas has not only adopted Paddy Cakes but has also found a way for her to help the children in the community become less fearful of dogs, and rely upon Paddy Cakes during difficult times, is awesome!!! Thank you, Officer Thomas, and may other communities follow your positive lead, for the sake of both the dogs and the humans who live in these remote communities. And way to go, Paddy Cakes!!!!
