Race Review. Let me start by congratulating all of our team - TopicsExpress

Race Review. Let me start by congratulating all of our team members who attended at least six different venues yesterday and even today. Dukes once again made their presence known at all of these races and events and that is only good for the team as it becomes a mainstay in the industry. Rock On Adventures Highlander 6. I normally do not write race reviews until Monday after I read all the comments and see all of the pics to ensure that I am both objective and fair as well as accurate. Simply stated I could not wait to get up and write this review. Just like any race or any business for that matter there are always going to be growing pains and lessons learned. For those of you who know Jonny and his entire staff, you know they not only solicit comments and advice but also many times use those things offered to make a better event even greater. Before I get into specifics of this race held Saturday let me just say this was hands down the best event I have personally ever attended. Saturdays Highlander started and ended with a sense of this was our venue, this was our home course and the sense of family I get when I am there is never felt at other venues. When you get there it just feels different. It is the normal pre race energy and excitement but they have managed to make you feel like you are part of something rather than just plunking down your money for another race. So lets go down the list of the normal critique items starting with parking. One again flawless: The fees were donations which just feels better than demands. The best part is it is so close to the venue. I know all of you have been to those races where you can literally be parked a mile or more from registration ect ect. Once you got on the property yesterday you immediately took notice that once again Jonny and his crew had gone above and beyond with this race. I could see no less than 30 to 40 obstacles just in the area of check in. It was exciting if not terrifying to look out there as you arrived. The check in is the area where I believe most races make or break peoples opinion of whether they might want to return to a certain venue. Every race struggles with all the same issues, late comers, changing wave times, transfers ect ect. Rock On Adventures has certainly taken those lessons learned and absolutely has heard the people. Wendy and her volunteers (April,Vannessa and more) were absolutely flawless and it was pleasure. Our team alone threw them at least five curve balls that I am aware of and not only did they handle it perfectly but they had those scenarios pre planned and never blinked an eye and our challenges. High praise to all of you that was amazing relief to a team organizer who always seems to inherit everyone problems. The race itself: I could never break it all down noone would read that book, but in my humble opinon this was one of if not the most challenging race I have been in. Some would disagree and I respect that but for me personally this race made the Spartan Sprint look like a walk in the park. Six miles 122 demanding obstacles. As stated I could go on and on but I will simply end by saying thank you to Jonny/Chris and their entire staff for yet another great addition to our race history. You have our commitment to your venue and our friendship forever. You are our home stadium without a doubt. Now someone please pass the Ibuprofen and BC powders. Dukes keep going to Rock on Adventures! RM
