Reposting from Cathy Jackson and also posted by Katherine Bray------there is a very worthwhile project that will make 1000s of Hancock Countys records available on-line, which is truly a blessing after our tragic fire this week. The Uncle Remus Library System has possession of these microfilmed Hancock County records. The only other copy is at the Georgia Archives. These can only be viewed now with a reader, but can be digitized and indexed for all to see! What a blessing! Our local EMC has agreed to furnish the $5000 match if $5000 can be raised to do this project. I urge you to help this very worthwhile project, not only for Hancock County but for the many people who love Hancock County the way we do!
