Rights-Based Ordinance on the ballot means creating a situation in which the powers-that-be are challenged in the Public forum. This ordinance preventing outsiders from profiteering on a Communitys natural resources causes a lot of focus by everyone....so that all the riggings by their lobbyists, attorneys and bought-off legislators is brought to light(state law that favors the profitting corporation). This creates a dilemma for the power mongers. If they ignore the ongoing movement of citizen law-making, their manipulations are eventually dismantled. If they challenge the citizen laws, the public learns of their greed and corruption. As long as the citizen law-making movement maintains courage and holds its ground, it is a lose-lose situation for the transnational corporations that become known as a force that is, in essence, anti-democratic and, therefore, essentially corrupt and anti-social. Most people intuit this. It is an eye-opening process. However the corporations respond, they are caught in their own game.
