Rocksteady 200 113. Let’s Get Together – Johnny & The Attractions (Gay Feet) Oh Jeez – what’s this doing way down at #113 – what was I thinking of? Funny how they come out – two Sonia Pottinger productions in succession and the third on this volume. This is truly magnificent. This’ll sound naff – but on youtube there is a recording of this accompanied by somebody who has clearly just filmed their feet dancing to it – probably in their own kitchen I’d say – but it’s bloody great!! The internet is full of people trying to find out who Johnny & The Attractions were – and nobody seems really certain. General consensus is that it is probably a certain Dudley Williamson on lead vocals and probably Johnny Osbourne adding backing vocals. These assumptions come from people who actually reckon they can recognise the singer’s voice from the recording. Could be that ‘Johnny’ is indeed Johnny Osbourne then. Whatever, as a group, they only recorded six songs, all for Sonia Pottinger. A couple of their singles reached the UK market on Doctor Bird records, but I don’t think this one saw the light of day on British soil.
