SHABBAT SHALOM! Well its been two weeks and a day since my beautiful wife and I were in Paducah Ky. to hear LTC. Allen West. I waited this long to post about it purposely so that no one could say that this OLD SOLDIER was just riding on the hype of meeting such a great patriot and warrior, or just plain star struck. Im getting into the autumn of my life now and I have very very few heroes too really speak of, and even less living heroes to even mention!! But make no mistake about it and bar none, Allen West is one of this old soldiers heroes! When youre a black conservative youre usually attacked from all and every side imaginable, and youve got to be tough with very thick skin to deal not only with the crazy left, but also those of your own race that cant seem to see the forest for the trees! Allen West I feel is an American Treasury, and truly blessed by YAHWEH. My wife and I were touched by his compassion for GOD, FELLOWMAN AND COUNTRY. He spoke as if he knew each one in the audience as old friends, and without a TELEPROMPTER no less! He spoke without notes or a written speech, and he proved to be a true orator and historian in every way. But most of all we were both touched by his true love for this country and his fellowman. Allen West without a doubt is what we old soldiers call a Soldiers Soldier which is the highest compliment that we as soldiers ever give another soldier and warrior. Doing my time in Vietnam I met a number of Soldiers Soldiers, and a few real heroes, well Allen West fits in both categories. I will be forever blessed by our meeting, and touched by this man of GOD.
