SOmething peculiar just ran through my mind after looking at some of the VOyager 1 imagery, and seeing its next destination (To be reached in some 40,000 years)... At some point, it will inevitably come into contact with the gravitational pull of a planet or star and burn up in the atmosphere..becoming, essentially, a Shooting Star. What if (And this is mindblowing to me) some of the shooting stars we see in the night sky are exploration satellites sent thousands of years ago from other planets that have been long forgotten and hit our atmosphere, burning away to nothing?
