SP leader hooliganism: Suspend savior DM, SSP Jhansi, register criminal case on them Calling it an abject example of complete administrative surrender before political might, I have requested CM, UP Akhilesh Yadav to suspend DM Jhansi L B Pandey and SSP Shiv Sagar Singh and prosecute them under criminal charges for their deliberate dereliction of duty and for having actively connived in assisting the offenders who openly beat Vinod Kumar Rai, Deputy Director, Agriculture, Mauranipur, Jhansi. Sri Rai was beaten by rifle-butt in his official residence by his subordinate Bhanu Pratap Singh and his goons and was abducted and taken to house of Mauranipur Samajwadi Party MLA Dr Rashmi Arya’s house where her husband Jai Prakash Arya also threatened him with dire consequences if he did not cancel an official transfer. Sri Rai immediately informed about the incidence to every concerned officer from Inspector Mauranipur to DM Jhansi but all of them completely ignored the matter, not even bothering to visit the place of occurrence. Despite his presenting written complaint, no FIR was registered for 10 days, nor was he taken for his mandatory medical exam. Finally he had to get his medical exam done on his own on 27 June. Even an accused brought to the police station was released on political pressure. The FIR finally got registered only on 01 July after the incidence caught some media attention. Till now 2 accused have been arrested but no action has been taken so far against MLA’s husband. Presenting all these facts, I have said that the deliberate silence and inaction on the part of every concerned officers, right from the Inspector to the DM despite fully knowing the serious incidence, makes it very apparent that other than their gross administrative laxity, they were also hands in gloves with the accused. Hence I have sought suspension and fixing of criminal of all responsible government servants including DM and SSP. I have also asked for transferring the case to CBI, considering the immense clout of the political and administrative persons involved in the case. I request you all to get involved with this matter and help Vinod Rai in his fight for justice.
