SPECTACULAR NEWS: The VMRO-DPMNE led government of FYROM, opened a museum devoted to historic VMRO leaders Todor Aleksandrov (1881-1924) and Ivan „Vanče“ Mihajlov (1896-1990), both of them being most explicit ethnic Bulgarians in their own words (Mihajlov was interviewed by Boris Višinski, a journalist from Skopje, in his home in Rome, in exile, in 1989, during which he explicitly confirmed that he is a Bulgarian from Macedonia). The museum exhibition in Novo Selo, part of the town of Štip, where both of them were born, features their wax figures as well as memorabilia of other VMRO fighters. The museum was opened by Elizabeta Kančeska – Milevska, FYROMs Minister for Culture, and Nikola Gruevski himself. Again, it should be stressed that these two leaders of historical VMRO, unlike some prior ones (whose alleged „Makedonci“ ethnicity was extrapolated by later biased interpretation of some of their ambiguous acts and words), were clearly recognized as Bulgarian nationalists even in communist historiography of FYROM. Also, Ivan Mihajlov left a great number of historiographical, including autobiographic publications in which he is explicit about his own Bulgarism and the Bulgarian ethnic affinity of Slavic population of FYROM.
