STRAW MAN - But who will build the roads? I follow many pages on Facebook. These include several liberal, conservative, and libertarian pages. I have only seen But who will build the roads? (or some variant of it) on libertarian pages. I dont think Ive ever seen liberals or conservatives use this argument to justify the existence of the state. If you bring up roads, some may argue that the state programs are fine or that completely privatizing all roads would change little about the system. They do not, however, think that roads are impossible to exist outside the state. Proposing statists think roads are some kind of complicated good that simply wouldnt not be built outside of the state is an imaginary argument.
