SUPER 8 AND JOEY FATONE HOST THE WORLD’S LARGEST PILLOW FIGHT AT SOUTH DAKOTA STATE UNIVERSITY WHAT: To mark 40 years of hospitality, Super 8 hotels alongside former N’SYNC pop star and television personality, Joey Fatone, will look to break the Guinness World Record for the largest pillow fight. The record attempt will occur in the birth place of Super 8—South Dakota—during one of the most anticipated football games of the season – South Dakota State University versus their greatest rival, University of South Dakota. At the end of the first quarter, the fight will commence as Joey Fatone throws the first pillow – the official attempt to break the record will occur right from the grand stands. Aside from the fun, fame and getting Super 8 and SDSU’s names in the record books, Super 8 is giving away super prizes to eight lucky participants following the event. One grand prize winner will receive up a $500 Wyndham Rewards Visa Debit Card while several others have the chance to win an array of other fun prizes. All participants will have the choice to keep the pillows provided to them by Super 8 or donate the pillows to a local charity. WHO: Super 8 hotels and South Dakota State University are partnering to break the Guinness World Record for largest pillow fight. Joey Fatone will act as emcee and host of the event. WHERE: Coughlin-Alumni Stadium South Dakota State University Brookings, SD 57006 WHEN: Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. The pillow fight will ensue between the 1st and 2nd quarter break WHY: Super 8 hotels is celebrating their 40th anniversary of serving guests at super destinations from coast to coast. The event will occur within the state in which the first Super 8 originated – South Dakota. The locale of South Dakota State University ensures a location where history can be both celebrated and made. Super 8’s first hotel opened in the state in 1974 and is now joined by over 2,400 hotels worldwide.
