Sanctions against Iran have not worked nor will sanctions against Israel. Punishing Israel is of a totally nature than punishing Iran. The world focus on the poor Palestinians and its quest to focus on their oppression by Israel is one of the biggest hypocrisies I have witnessed in modern times. Yes, Israels settlements policy is totally wrong and abusive but it is a minor issue in the great realm of things. The oppressed Palestinians have had numerous opportunities since 1967 to gain their independance. They squandered every possibility; preferring to remain in their quite comfortable status quo. The world hypocrisy comes from concentrating on the tiny, highly visible, non-threatening and convenient target Israel while ignoring the occupation/annexation by China of Tibet and Mongolia; the annexation by Russia under Stalin of huge territories; the abuse of human rights in all Muslim theocracies and dozens of other large and bloody conflicts worldwide. The reason? fear of antagonizing Russia, China, India, Muslim theocracies, etc. which would affect economic relationships with these countries. So, lets go after Israel!
