Sarah Harris These are my thoughts.. And before I start, dont get my wrong, this is a terrible epidemic, it is heartbreaking and so sad to see. I sympathize to the fullest with everyone who has been effected by Ebola, and my heart goes out to all of the victims and their families. However, I feel that these people went to Africa with FULL knowledge of the different illnesses that are over there. I feel thats a risk they took when they went there. I feel that they are selfish for even agreeing to come here to get treatment and putting our nation at risk. THEY chose to go. We did not. That was not our choice and I dont feel that we should be put at risk for their choices. On top of that, I feel that it is a slap in the face for the people of Africa that they are left to suffer, but these 2 people are given special treatment... Furthermore, On one hand, the experts all say that it cant spread here etc etc, theyre isolated, theres measures in place blahblah. Reading another article about one of the doctors in Liberia who contracted it, the doctor who now has it is quoted: Brantly says he isnt sure how he got infected. Hes certain he didnt violate any safety guidelines. Strickland says he followed strict protocols. He covered every inch of his body before entering the Ebola ward in a protective suit. It would take at least 30 minutes to get that suit on properly, - SO... if he followed ALL the guidelines and had all his safety stuff on, it got to him SOMEHOW, and what is to stop that happening to the doctors treating him here, in America?... This is all so stupid. All it takes is one person treating him to not know they have it, and to go home or out in public and spread it... because it can take from 2-21 days to come out. They say you cant spread it without showing symptoms, but how much do they REALLY know? Not that much, seeing as this doctor contracted it without violating any safety procedures, and theres no vaccine and no cure
