Saving faith is more than believing a certain set of truths; it is - TopicsExpress

Saving faith is more than believing a certain set of truths; it is entrusting yourself to those truths. It’s saying, “I recognize my sin. I understand that my sin has separated me from God. I’m sorry for that sin. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sin. I believe that He rose from the dead on the third day. As best I know how, I turn from sin by placing my faith in Christ. Christ is my only hope. If He cant save me, I will be eternally lost.” For this person, the Gospel is believed and acted upon. That’s why Jesus says, “come” in John 6:35 (“he who comes to Me will not hunger”).
