Several years ago I was going through a rough time in my life! My son had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, the church I was Pastoring was was struggling, my Dad had died, and I was at my whits end! Discouraged, defeated, and ready to quit!! Then one day out of the blue a Pastor from a distant state, whom I did not know very well drove up at my office and came into my office and said, heard you were going through a tough time. I been through some tough times, thought you might need a friend. The encouragement and prayers of this man along with many others got me through my darkest days. My challenge for us today is for us to reach out to the hurting. Just let them know you care! No answers are necessary and no advice is needed, just a kind and loving heart! Paul wrote in Galatians 6:2 that we are to,Bear ye one anothers burdens,and so fulfill the law of Christ. I leave in a few moments to travel to Pennsylvania to speak. As I go I pray God will allow me to do as the lyrics of the old hymn suggest: Brighten the corner where you are, Someone far from harbor You may guide across the bar. God bless you today! Pray for me as I travel, speak 3 times tomorrow and then travel to NY to a Pastors conference! There are a lot of hurting people, yes many are Pastors that God wants us (me) to encourage! Lett brighten the corner where we are today!!
