Since the change in the leadership in Uttarakhand, it seems Harish Rawat has been doing a remarkable work for the people of the 13 year old state. In order to ensure that the Congress brings maximum of the seats in the ensuing parliamentary elections he is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the people of the states are benefited to the maximum. He recently in one of the meetings announced a populist measure of providing one crore to each panchayat of the hills if the work of consolidation of the land holdings is carried out on full swing. Its definitely a welcome decision, if it actually takes a formidable shape in the coming days. In addition to such populist announcements, Rawat is also making inroads into the interiors of the UK and trying to hobnob with the common public giving the impression that he is no less than the aam admi of AAP party. If we compare the working the the present incumbant CM with the previous ones there is not an inkling of doubt that having been highly experienced and well versed with the situations of the hills Rawat is proving to be tremendously successful in mingling with the common people and making fruitful announcements. All of us know that soon after joining as the CM of UK, Rawat laid down the foundation stones of hundreds of the incoming projects which were cleared by the Vijay Bahuguna government. This speaks of the fact how serious and interested is he in ensuring that the pace of development takes place in UK at the fastest mode. But now since the elections have been declared and no work could be carried out practically , its seems to be a big jolt to the Congress government in the state. Whatever be the truth but the hard fact remains that the Modi and Kejrival factor is ruling the roost these days and which way the wind of victory blows in April only time will tell.
