So, Angel is Stage 1, which we expected. He had blood work to check his tumor markers today(higher than normal markers signify a tumor is present somewhere or beginning to form). He also had a chest X-Ray. If any of those come back abnormal we will pursue further treatment. Right now we are doing strict surveillance. He will go back to Sloan Kettering next month (every month thereafter)for the next 2 years. Every month he will have bloodwork and a chest X-Ray. Next month he will be having both as well as a cat scan which he will be getting every 3 months). The greatest chance of recurrence is in the first 2 years. Even if there is, there is still almost a 100% curable rate. So its a waiting game...and so far we are winning.
