So I posted this last night on my page and although there was much speculation with the 3 top choices being the Vandenburg launch, the meteor shower and lightning it was NONE of the above and I am still trying to figure it out. I live under Shelf rd and when I returned last night (around 6:30ish) saw the entire sky behind the mountain light up in inconsistant flickers. Sometimes it would be a small flicker(but still lighting up sky) other times it would be a series of about 4. These happened every minute or 2. Wathced until about 7 and came inside. Just looked on googlemaps and am guessing it originated on Nordoff trail or cosydale trail. There was NO sound accompanying this light. Does anyone know? Ive lived here a year and never seen anything like it. The light was from ground NOT sky
