So after my blow up on Friday about being yelled at for making the neighbors dogs bark here is an update! FIRST neighbor made kid come over and apologize! accepted and said thank you to kid! SECOND for the last two days the said dogs were not just dumped in the back yard for hours to bark like they usually are! I was told by someone since they work at the local shelter that she was WELL aware of the laws!!!! (this person is not owner of house and only owner of one of the four dogs just lives there) with that said this is the law for our town § 78-4. Declaration of nuisance. A. Any dog, cat or other animal, which by frequent and habitual barking, howling, screeching, yelping or baying, or in any way or manner disturbs the quiet of any person of the community, or which disturbs or endangers the comfort, repose or health of persons, is hereby declared to be committing a nuisance. No owner or person having custody of such animal shall harbor or permit it to commit such a nuisance. B. Any dog, cat or other animal which scratches, digs or defecates upon any lawn, tree, shrub, plant, building or any other public or private property, other than the property of the owner or person in charge or control of such animal, is hereby declared to be a nuisance. C. Any dog, cat or other free-roaming animal which trespasses upon any public or private property, other than the property of the animals owner or person in charge of the animal, is hereby declared a nuisance. [Added 4-21-2004 by Ord. No. 878] I said friday I have never complained about these dogs but this has been going on for years and getting yelled at for making dogs bark while on my own property ya I flipped out! Neither person who owns these dogs have said a word to me about it and right now things are sort of wierd here hopefully that will work itself out if not thats fine to! I stand behind my complaint and I really dont care who agrees with me or not! I will never call the cops or anything but it is a matter of having respect for your neighbors! There are 13 dogs that live very close to my house and said dogs are the only ones I hear barking all time! I know I am not the only one who feels this way but was the only one who finally said something!
