So assuming the VY does need the intake manifold gasket done... Ive been thinking about the state of things. Basically the engine in it has 230,000km on it. It does have a full service history and has always been looked after, but it is getting long in the tooth. So... my theory is I have 4 options. 1. Replace intake manifold gasket and do a gasket kit in it (not head gaskets). 2. Replace intake manifold gasket & all other gaskets, paint manifold, install manifold insulators and plenum insulators. 3. Buy a spare engine, paint the manifold on it and do all the insulators, install this onto my current engine when Im ready, then toughen up the block & heads of the spare engine over time and bolt my extras on later. 4. Persevere for a little longer with this engine while I build a complete spare one up which would have all the gaskets, seals, head work, toughened up bottom end, and then just bolt the whole lot in. This would take a bit longer to do though. There wont be an option 5, and if there was, it wouldnt be swap to LS1/LS2/LS3/LS7/LSA
