So for today, November 12th... I mean, September 12th, it will be very cool again! This is the earliest that we have put two back-to-back 50s together in nearly a century, yes, nearly 100 years! Highs this cool are averages for early November. Could it be a sign of what winter has to offer? Hopefully not! One thing thats for sure is that it is way too soon to stay this cool, and well see more warm days ahead. The true heat may be done, but the perfect weather isnt. Well see low 70s and sunshine by Wednesday/Thursday! Dont be discouraged. This is a huge taste of fall, but its not permanent just yet. At least its not snowing like it did in the plains. Rapid City, ND just saw its earliest measurable snowfall ever recorded yesterday. We just keep pumping in records all over! While its too soon to carve out a winter forecast, it wouldnt be a bad idea to begin preparations to your home to reduce drafts and so forth. Just from the way things are going, the patterns we are in and have been in and other natural signs such as spiders, squirrels and wholly worms (which are actually quite accurate)... I would personally say that its going to be a pretty bad winter. But how bad? Well see. It is easier to gather a feel for what lies ahead for winter than it is summer, because animals and insects are much more of a factor in a winter season than in summer, in case youve ever wondered that. Also, the lake effect rain machine will get going into tonight, potentially dropping up to an inch of RAIN over portions of Lake and Porter counties. Everyone have a great day, and good luck to our photo entrants in which the winner of will be revealed at 4pm!
