So guys Im pretty satisfied with the Springbok selections, please note that its a selector panel that sits together to pick the squad and not Heyneke on his own. The reason I say that is because everyone will want start to point the finger some where and in particular to HM, I have been harping on about the Reinachs potential but think he might be their mainly because Ian MacIntosh probably had a strong say in the matter. Also you have to think about Kockett and the fact that if he chose to take up a selectors call he would still be only third choice. Im sure he will be concentrating on his French international career. Got to feel for Julian Redlinghuis, I seriously thought that he might get a look in but I am pretty confident in Malherbes abilities. The guys EYOT last year was pretty good up until injury. He has a high work rate and make some big tackles as well but more importantly he can actually scrum.... Not to sure on the Oupa Mohoje pick and I am yet to be convinced on his merit. Feel Juan Smith should be their instead as this could be political appointment to keep certain people happy.... I hope I am proven wrong and Mahoje just steps up. That said I think Marcel Coetzee will be in the match day squad where Oupa will be more on standby. As for Goosen, well boy this Kid just never got going, its a sad story but I hope it has a good ending with him going to France and coming back a stronger and better player. The Kid had so much potential! Is this squad good enough to beat the All Blacks or even Australia for that matter. Its a tough one. with regards to our Forwards yes we are more then capable of dominating up front but the backline worries me and in particular 9 and 13. I think de Allende will prove he belongs at this level and he has the aggression to make the 13 jersey his own. But he will come short in experience against the likes of a Conrad Smith. The one thing that will help is that him and JDV are not a new combo and have played together numerous times but usually the other way round as well with JDV playing 13 and him playing 12. but that should be fine especially with communication. 9 really is a big worry. Had we been playing up North then Ruan Pienaar would be fine but we palying a very fast southern Hemisphere game and I feel Aaron Smith will be sniping around the rucks and scrums and needs an equally fast sniper to keep him in check!!!! unfortunatley our two back ups just dont have the kicking game of Pienaar so a lot depends on him this tournament....a lot! So to end off, yes we can beat anyone but if we are focussing entirely on the All Blacks then we will get caught with our pants down against the Aussies who are looking more likely to be the first team to end the All Black dominance. So lets take it one game at a time. This Aussie team look very good!!!!!!
