So, my mortgage company has made me an offer that I could not have - TopicsExpress

So, my mortgage company has made me an offer that I could not have anticipated. Like millions of other home owners I am under water and likely to never come up for air. The offer is to sign over the deed to my house at 100% of the mortgage versus a short sale or some other unhelpful option. They would give me two months from day of decision to accept the offer plus 1% of the assessed value of the house to help pay first and last month of rent or spend it in whatever way I need to. There would be no tax burden on the debt relief just on that 1% to help moving into a rental. I have some expensive repairs to make plus my future plan to get a teaching certificate to teach English in other countries so I have to ask myself if my emotional attachment to my house is enough to keep on with the stress of managing the house or let go and start off to a new adventure. I am looking to find a two bedroom house with garage. Yard not too much. If anyone knows someone or you are someone with such a rental I would love to hear from you. I do think after 13 years it may be time to move forward and eliminate the stress I have been experiencing being a home owner. I also realize the stress has had a direct impact on my health which I simply cannot allow to continue because poor health affects every area of my life. Feedback is welcome and wanted. Thank you, Scott
